PUFF TEST AND PIPE LEAKAGE TEST
In all gas extinguishing systems, Puff Test and Pipe Leak Test must be applied as well as Door-Fan Test.
With the Puff Test, the installation residues remaining in the pipe network are swept with compressed air or Nitrogen gas. After making sure that there are no plumbing residues left in the pipe network, the Puff Test is completed.
After successfully performing the puff test, the Pipe Tightness Test is started. For the Pipe Tightness Test (LEAK TEST), the nozzle connection points are closed by tightening the blind plug. 3bar pressure is applied to the pipe network. Wait for 10 minutes and at the end of the 10th minute, it is acceptable for the application pressure to drop by a maximum of 20%, that is, the pressure gauge pressure to drop from 3 bar to – 2.4bar. Under these conditions, the pipe network is considered leakproof. If a pressure drop below 2.4bar is observed, the pipe network should be improved.
