The seismic bracing process is planned as Lateral Two-Way, Longitudinal Two-Way and Four-Way in vertical ascending lines and its placement is made by taking into account the basic conditions stated below. The bracing process will start from the end point of the pipe and continue until the starting point. The hanging distances in lateral, longitudinal and vertical lines given below represent the maximum hanging intervals that can be used. In practice, installation is carried out by taking these distances into consideration or keeping them below these distances. Fixed (rigid) and rope type seismic bracing systems are available. Fixed (rigid) bracing elements are frequently used. Rope seismic bracing systems are not accepted by some insurance groups.
- Lateral bracing will be made 1.8m from the end of the pipe and the first suspension will be made and the second suspension will continue at maximum 12.2m and the suspension process will continue at maximum every 12.2m intervals. Lateral bracing will be made 0.6m before the elbow at the points where the pipe turns.
- Longitudinal bracing will be done 1.8m from the end of the pipe and the first bracing will be done and the second bracing will continue at maximum 24.4m intervals for the bracing process continuing at maximum 12.2m. Lateral bracing will be carried out 0.6m before the elbow at the points where the pipe makes a turn.
- Four-way bracing will only be applied to vertical pipes. Four-way suspension will be applied at maximum 7.6m intervals for vertical pipes.
In addition to the serious loss of life and property that may be experienced, the investment cost for earthquake protection of fire protection systems and devices will be very insignificant. AKSAY Yangın, with its competent technical staff, carries out project design, correct material selection and application studies for seismic protection to limit the movement of fire protection systems and devices during earthquakes. With the project-specific calculations and application details of the seismic bracing-protection system, the threat to life is reduced, as well as minimizing the costs related to installation and equipment damages in the long term. Seismic bracing materials are supplied and applied as UL Listed and FM certified.
