Hi-Ex High Expansion Foaming Extinguishing Systems offer highly economical solutions in terms of installation and maintenance due to its specially developed equipment. Hi-Ex (High Expansion Foam System) is a system that can be used as an alternative to Conventional Foam Extinguishing Systems. Especially where total flooding is required, racked or free storage is done, it is used in large areas for covering the floor and the purpose of suppressing flammable combustible vapors. What is HI- EX High Expansion Foam Extinguishing System?

High expansion foam concentrate, using special foam concentrate and foam generators, creates large foam bubbles by expanding the water and foam mixture at a ratio of approximately 1/200 to 1/1000 depending on the type of generators used. The generators used in the Hi-Ex System often do not require an external energy source. They utilize the existing pump pressure to send the water and foam mixture to the impingement surface of the generator through special nozzles, mix it with air, and enable the solution to expand within the range of 1/200 to 1/1000.

Hi-Ex Foam Generators are often made of stainless steel, making them extremely lightweight. They can be installed without requiring specific construction based on their ceiling position. However, as some manufacturers equip Hi-Ex Foam Extinguishing System Generators with electric or hydraulic motors, the installation must be carried out with extreme care and additional fastening procedures.

Hi-Ex foam extinguishing system generators obtain the air required for foam production either from outside or from the environment in which they are located. Using indoor air is extremely important, as it traps heat, smoke, and other harmful factors produced by combustion within the foam. This principle of using ambient air is highly significant for effective extinguishing. By utilizing the heated indoor air, it captures the heat and oxygen necessary for the continuation of combustion within the foam. This reduces the oxygen levels and temperature in the environment. As a result, additional ventilation or smoke extraction may relatively not be required, contributing to the structural integrity of the building.

When the Hi-Ex system is used, heat and oxygen are absorbed from the environment, eliminating two critical factors for combustion. This allows the system to quickly control the fire. Due to the water content within its structure, it provides a cooling effect. By covering the material, it isolates it from the environment and ensures safe fire suppression. Additionally, with its minimal water content, the damage caused by water flooding is negligible compared to conventional foam systems.
