CLASS B FOAM CONCENTRATES

Class B Fuels, i.e. flammable and combustible liquids, require foams designed for rapid extinguishing and a safe foam blanket to prevent re-ignition. To minimize the spread of fire from areas where the foam blanket has been damaged, it is important that the foam blanket is self-completing quickly and has good backfire resistance. The integrity of the foam blanket (film or polymeric layer) is often compromised by falling debris or firefighter movement during the response and subsequent dragging of the fire hose and/or equipment through the foam blanket. In this sense, film-forming foams try to complement themselves with the film layer (blanket) they form on the fuel surface and repair the broken film layer.  Especially when you use AR Alcohol resistant foams, the polymeric layer formed by the foam concentrate is more effective in this type of breakage and tends to rebuild and cover the fuel surface much faster after the breakage.

It is important to choose the right product for your application. Class B firefighting foams are typically used in chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, oil and gas storage facilities, flammable liquid storage facilities, airports and wherever flammable liquids are stored or utilized in packaging.

As SOLBERG family, we offer one of the world’s widest and most technologically advanced Class B firefighting foam concentrates portfolios “Fluorine Free, Environmentally Friendly ‘Re-Healing™’ and foam concentrates with the same properties as AFFF as well as ‘Fluorine Free AFFF – AR’.

Our fluorine-free product line includes foam concentrates for hydrocarbon fuels, alcohol resistant concentrates for polar solvent fuel fires, training foam, specialty foams and a complete line of Class A foam concentrates. Our fluorine-free foams are manufactured from raw materials that do not contain persistent chemicals such as Per or Polyfluoroalkyl substances.

Fluorine-free environmental foam concentrates seal the fuel surface, suppressing vapor release and separating fuel and air to extinguish the fire. Alcohol Type Concentrates are specially designed with additives that prevent the polar solvent from damaging the blanket by drawing water from the foam bubbles.
