RE-HEALING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FLUORINE-FREE FOAM CONCENTRATES

From SOLBERG …
RE-HEALING Environmentally Friendly Fluorine-Free Foam Concentrates
Leaves no trace in nature, No toxic effects, Environmentally friendly products “

RE-HEALING foam concentrates are synthetic fire extinguishing foam concentrates designed for a wide range of applications with conventional fire protection equipment and systems. RE-HEALING foam concentrates are produced without the use of chemicals such as fluorosurfactant, fluoropolymer, fluorotelomere, which are proven to be persistent in the environment, bioaccumulative (entering the food chain) and toxic (PBT).

  • Solberg Re-Healing foam concentrates leave no trace in nature, do not bioaccumulate and are environmentally friendly in terms of toxic degradation.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates represent natural resistance to afterburning while providing sustainable long-lasting flammable, toxic or harmful vapor suppression.
  • RE-HEALING Foam Concentrates are high performance alternative foams, such as aqueous film-forming AFFF foams.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates provide rapid extinguishing of hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates represent a new, innovative and novel alternative product line to traditional foam concentrates such as AFFF, AR-AFFF, FP and FFFP.
  • RE-HEALING Foam concentrate has low and high expansion concentrate options.
  • For Hydrocarbon and Solvent Fires, it quickly covers the surface by making a film, is resistant to high temperatures and can adhere to hot metal surfaces due to its manufacturing properties.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates cool the fuel effectively and well and have high vapor suppression properties. Due to their good coverage of the applied surface, they suppress fuel vapors and reduce dangerous flammable vapor clouds.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates can be used with fresh and salt water as well as dry chemicals.
  • The fast-flowing foam blanket of RE-HEALING foam concentrates provides better control and extinguishing than protein-based concentrates. In this case, afterburning is significantly controlled.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates are compatible with your existing foam systems. Contact your SOLBERG distributor or technical service to use them in your existing system.
  • RE-HEALING foam concentrates should not be mixed with foam concentrates of other brands. When applied to fire as a foam solution, RE-HEALING foam concentrates may be mixed with similar foam concentrates manufactured by Solberg.
  • The use of RE-HEALING foam concentrate is not limited to class “B” fires. It is also suitable for use in “A” class fires. It is also highly effective and successful in extinguishing fires where A and B class combustibles can be together.
  • All RE-HEALING foam concentrate raw materials are stable and soluble in water and do not form precipitate.

The minimum shelf life is 20 years when stored in the original packaging or in equipment recommended by the manufacturer within the specified temperature range. If freezing occurs, thawing and mixing makes the foam concentrates usable again. Freezing and subsequent thawing and mixing does not result in a loss of product quality.

RE-HEALING Foam concentrates are tested and certified according to FM, UL 162 and EN 1568 standards.

Flammable and combustible liquids (Class B Fuels) need foams designed for rapid extinguishing and a safe foam blanket to prevent re-ignition. It is important that the foam blanket has good backfire resistance to minimize the spread of fire from areas where the blanket has been damaged. The integrity of the foam blanket is often compromised by falling debris or firefighter movement and subsequent dragging of the fire hose and/or equipment through the foam blanket.

Over the past fifteen years governments around the world have continued to enact legislation banning or restricting the use of Per- or Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) containing foam (AFFF). Perimeter Solutions has been developing, marketing and selling fluorine-free alternatives for the past two decades and we offer one of the world’s broadest and most technologically advanced portfolios of Class B firefighting foam concentrates (Fluorine Free and AFFF type foams). Our fluorine-free product line includes foam concentrates for hydrocarbon fuels, alcohol-resistant concentrates for polar solvent fuel fires, training foam, specialty foams and a complete line of Class A foam concentrates. Our fluorine-free foams contain raw materials that do not contain intentionally added persistent chemicals such as PFAS substances, including PFOS or PFOA siloxanes.

The fluorine-free foam seals the fuel surface, suppressing vapor release and separating fuel and air to extinguish the fire. Alcohol Type Concentrates (ATC) are specially designed with additives that prevent the polar solvent from damaging the blanket by drawing water through the foam bubbles.

SOLBERG fluorine-free foams are available in various mixture ratios (1%, 3% or 6%), viscosities and freezing points. SOLBERG also produces aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) and alcohol-resistant AFFF (AR-AFFF). Environmental Solutions AFFF and AR-AFFF are available in various formulations with varying mixing ratios (1%, 3% or 6%), viscosities and freezing points.

It is important to choose the right product for your application. Class B firefighting foams are generally used in chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, oil and gas storage facilities, flammable liquid storage facilities, airports and wherever flammable liquids are stored or used.

AKSAY Yangın and SOLBERG are ready to support you in the selection and use of environmentally friendly foam concentrates that will safely protect your investments.
