Systems are dimensioned by considering variable parameters such as above. In each system, the required discharge characteristics of each nozzle, such as capacity, scanning area, spray angle, are calculated and designed for the current hazard to be protected.
Water Spray systems can be designed with manual and/or automatic control. System design is often done according to NFPA 15 or API 2030 standards. The application flow is determined according to the design standard, and engineering calculations of the system are made by taking into account the minimum and maximum working pressure range of the spray nozzle according to the manufacturer’s manuals. We make engineering calculations independently for each system we design.
Nozzle types consist of MV Medium Velocity water spray nozzles, HV High Velocity water spray nozzles, Water Curtain nozzles, Tank Cooling nozzles, Reverse Action nozzles, Jumbo Curtain nozzles and Rotary nozzles.
MV nozzles are spray nozzles used in fixed water spray systems in fire protection applications. While Reverse Action water spray nozzles serve the same purpose, unlike MV nozzles, installation is done in the opposite direction. MV spray nozzles discharge a water spray of medium velocity water droplets into a uniformly filled crawl space, which is required for effective extinguishing and cooling.
High velocity nozzles (HV) are mainly used in water spray systems for the protection of stationary hazards such as transformers and circuit breakers.
Water curtain nozzles distribute water evenly to the ground. Water curtains are manufactured and used to separate the area under fire from adjacent areas or the area in which it is located.
